Good news, we’ve finally done it - we’ve pulled all of our favourite pairs into one blog just for you. The good, the great and the glorious, all in one place donning a particular focus on Ralph Lauren, Vagabond and our family at Dr. Martens.
Get browsing, because once they’re gone, they’re gone. Don’t say we didn’t warn you.
One of TOWER HQ’s favourite loafer lines this season, the Alex from Vagabond is a classic style crafted from Polish leather, integrating a traditional penny moc-slot across the vamp and soft leather lining from heel to toe.
Guess what? It all started with a tie. In 1967, Ralph Lauren was working out of a drawer in the Empire State Building, selling handmade ties from premium fabric and selling them to colleagues craving notes of Old Hollywood glamour everyday.
A year later, Ralph debuted his preliminary male collection - introducing a white flannel suit and smarter shirts made from sportswear fabrics. Excitement was of the essence. By 1971 the first Polo by Ralph Lauren store had opened on Rodeo Drive - accompanying a debut line of tailored women’s shirts embroidered with that delightful Pony logo.
Bearing a chain from left to right, the Jillian Buckle Loafer is one of the most elegant pairs to leave Vagabond's vast and impressive back-catalogue of greatness. There's just something that resonates so heavily, is it the magpie in us all? Or the elegant on-foot slope? One thing's for sure, we'll be slipping into these until this time next year.
From their first eight-holed 1460 boot, the Griggs quartet used Dr. Martens’ air-sole to conquer all aspects of worker’s footwear. TOWER boasts a variety of classic 1460 iterations, cut down as the 1461 low and not forgetting 1970’s 2976 boot - DM even broke off into sandals, integrating modern Poly reworks together with toddler-friendly alterations.
Sure, this may just be a mule - but wait, it's got the Ralph Lauren dazzle on it!
You may just consider this as a regular, boring slipper, but you'd be wrong. The kelcie snuff is a momentous number, clad in immensely plush microsuede for a high-quality and durable finish. Home is where the Polo is, at least we think so anyway.
