Discover the World’s Second Best View

We’ve long had a thing about London’s epic skyline but even we were surprised when we discovered the recent results of a British Airways poll. The airline asked their pilots who had flown 180 routes what their favourite view in the world was and the capital trumped Mont Blanc and was just pipped to the top spot by the Northern Lights.

We have to say though, us Londoners really are spoilt for choice when it comes to views. From north to south, east to west, there is plenty to choose from. The top of the Shard, The London Eye and the rooftop bar at The Tate Modern all provide perfect vantage points, but which location do you rate the highest (sorry, couldn’t resist)?

There’s been a fierce debate here at TOWER HQ for which beauty spot gets top marks and while Primrose Hill, Hackney’s Netil House and Pont Street over Chelsea Embankment all got mooted, the winner was clear: Peckham. It may not be London’s prettiest area but boy does it have good views, especially when spending an evening on top of its infamous Bussey Building (home to both Rooftop Film Club and Frank’s Café).

TOWER top tip: Head to the The Trafalgar’s Vista Bar, Trafalgar Square, for a post-work tipple and an amazing view that is often missed by tourists.

Heading out to admire the views? Don’t forget to take an umbrella:
